IGEL - The Program
Through a multi-session program that takes place in various locations around the state, participants are actively exposed to the vast potential and pressing environmental concerns in all regions of Georgia. The program emphasizes hands-on learning techniques and opportunities to master new skills through practice. Sessions include leadership development with regards to current environmental issues, emerging environmental challenges, environmental problem solving, communication skills, and conflict management.
The tuition fee of $2,850 covers instruction, materials, lodging and meals, and partial scholarships are available. One hundred percent attendance is required, and participants must dedicate time to reading materials in preparation for each session.
IGEL qualifies as an elective program for the Certified Commissioner Advanced Training Program for the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia. IGEL functions as a statewide networking and information vehicle made possible through alumni events. The 2007 Class 6 will bring our alumni to more than 200 members.
